How do I start playing on a Factions server from this list?
To join, scroll through the factions servers above and pick one that looks fun, for example a server with active PvP, raiding, or one that resets monthly. Once you have found one, click the Copy IP button on the server’s listing. Then open Minecraft, go to Multiplayer, click the Add Server button, and paste the IP you just copied into the address box. If you are having issues connecting, double check you are using a version of Minecraft the server supports and that you are on Java, since most factions servers run on Java edition. After joining, look at chat to find basic commands, team up with other new players to create a faction, or get started right away by using a random teleport command such as /wild and then claiming some land.
What is a Minecraft factions server and how does it work?
A Minecraft faction server is a competitive survival world built around teams, land claiming, TNT cannons and PvP. Players group up into factions, then claim land to protect their base and spawners from other teams. Most of these servers use an in-game economy, so you earn money by farming items like sugarcane or by killing mobs that come from spawners, then spend that balance on better gear, more spawners or base defenses. Raiding is a huge part of the gamemode, so TNT cannons, walls and base design matter a lot, because enemies cannot break blocks in your claimed land and have to use cannons to get in. Many of the best faction servers in Minecraft run in seasons with regular map resets (often monthly) and have leaderboards that track which factions have the most value within their claimed land at the end of the map.
What’s the best way to decide which server to stick with?
When you are browsing the servers on our list, start by checking the description and looking for important information like the map length, rules and how competitive it is. Some servers focus on classic factions with TNT raiding, power and overclaiming, while others offer a more modern approach with custom enchants, stacked spawners and cannon speed limits. Look at the player count, season length and how intense the server feels, since some factions servers are very sweaty and others are more casual. Try a couple IPs from our list and play long enough to join or start a faction, then stay on the server where the rules, community and competitiveness match how you like to play.
